2003 LTER All Scientists Meeting

The LTER 2003 All Scientists Meeting will be held in Seattle from September 18-21 in association with the meeting of the Estuarine Research Federation (http://www.erf.org/).  The ERF's meeting begins on September 14 and will wind up with a joint ERF/LTER session on the afternoon of Thursday, September 18. There will be a joint mixer for the two groups all day Thursday, and the ASM will continue on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. 
 
Please block these dates on your calendar.  The Network Office is presently arranging housing and registration services for the meeting, and information regarding these arrangements will be sent out before the end of the year. This will be accompanied by a call for ASM working sessions, so think about the topic or topics you might wish to propose. The Network Office is also preparing a proposal to NSF for travel support for the meeting.

We would like to expand this committee to include other elements of LTER
(e.g., social science, education), and volunteers are welcome.
 
A sub-committee chaired by Dan Childers and including Bruce Hayden, Tim
Hollibaugh, Chuck Hopkinson, and Dan Reed are working to develop the
joint ERF-LTER session.
 
We'll keep you posted as plans develop.  In the meantime, send us
suggestions for the program.
