A scintillometer receiver receives a laser beam transmitted by a scintillometer transmitter that is located about 2 km to the East. The refractions of the laser beam in the air are measured and used to estimate the sensible heat flux over the entire scintillometer transect. The solar panel powers the scintillometer receiver, data logger, and sensors to measure air temperature and humidity, and wind speed. (Photo by Jan M.H. Hendrickx). SEV LTER.
