Coastal Carolina University is seeking a Director for our Environmental Quality
Laboratory (EQL). This is a full-time annual appointment position with benefits
and faculty status in the School of Coastal and Marine Systems Science, which
offers masters and PhD degrees. The EQL is a nonprofit facility that engages
in and supports education, research, and community service. The EQL director
collaborates in the development and execution of monitoring and research projects.
The EQL is certified by the state of SC for analysis of various water quality
parameters. Ongoing projects include: (1) monitoring programs in riverine,
ground and coastal waters using wet chemistries and continuous in-situ sensors,
(2) microbial source tracking using qPCR assays and chemical tracers, such as
caffeine and optical brighteners, and (3) performance assessments of ecosystem
restoration efforts and stormwater best management practices. Monitoring data
are provided online.
